WHAT IS MARK DOING RIGHT NOW?

  • Starting to journal again for the first time in 30 years. Although this time, I’m doing it using the excellent Day One app.
  • Kickstarting my German language learning again, so I can re-attempt to get German citizenship. Using Duolingo (of course).
  • Restructuring my website, tidying stuff up, and switching email newsletters to SendFox.
  • Starting two new websites – a sub-domain of this website called Wunderkammer, and another website called Life Operating Manual. Both still under construction.
  • Working a day job at Android Authority as a writer and editor.
  • Attempting (with great difficulty!) to get the next Department 89 novel finished.
  • Studying SEO courses at Yoast and considering starting coding classes at Free Code Camp.
  • Finally starting to listen to podcasts on a regular basis. Using the great Pocket Casts.
  • Studying my heroes to see how I can apply successful aspects of their life to mine. So, reading a lot of Tim Ferriss at the moment.

COME ON MARK, THAT SURELY CAN'T BE EVERYTHING?

You’re right, I’m also :

  • Getting the band back together.
  • Cloning dinosaurs on my tropical island (what could possibly go wrong? We’ll have a coupon day or something!)
  • Hunting down and destroying the 7 Horcruxes.
  • Defeating the Daleks.
  • Repairing the Batmobile.
  • Going to Mordor to destroy the One Ring (any restaurant recommendations?)
  • Bringing balance to the Force.
  • Assembling the Avengers.
  • Getting back to 1985.
  • Saving the Cheerleader.
  • Living long and prospering.
  • To boldly go where no-one has gone before.
  • Looking for the one-armed man.
  • Looking on the bright side of life.
  • Defeating Chuck Norris.
  • Getting more cowbell.
  • Hiring two private investigators and getting them to follow one another.
  • Graduating in philosophy and asking people WHY they want fries with that.
  • Sitting next to people in the bus, looking straight ahead, and whispering “so did you bring the ransom as we asked?”
  • Teaching a parrot to say “HELP! I’ve been turned into a parrot!”
  • Following joggers around, playing “Eye of the Tiger” at a loud volume to encourage them.
